5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding

Matthew Pallamary has lived experiences in his studies of Shamanism that few could ever image or attempt in their quest. Natural hallucinogens open the doors of a world beyond reality in order to become one with the earth that transcends time and space. Mental shape-shifting and being lost in a perpetual dream awakening state that parallels his life in many places incites further understanding into his basic real existence. A superbly written chronicle of his experiences in the Amazon that left me both awed and overwhelmed. This book is not for the casual reader, but if you delve into it with an open mind, eager to absorb its contents a plethora of life lessons await you.
By the time I was 3/4 of the way in I felt it was, largely, the search of how to be a better person through his exploits in Shamanism. When I came to one particular passage it was confirmed, at least for me.

“Be impeccable in your word” stood out among the rest in its stark meaning. Who are we if our word is nothing?
To say this book is enlightening is an understatement. Even though Picaflor was a lot to process mentally and at moments above my paygrade of comprehension l pushed on and was rewarded with a sense of inner accomplishment for taking this journey with him.
There are reasons Matthew Pallamary has earned so many lucrative titles and awards. Picaflor is just another shining example of his work.
-To The Author- It is not often that a book lingers to the extent yours has. Congratulations on your many achievements.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a pondering book. You’ll spend time thinking.

A man’s journey into hell where he deliberately allows himself to go is nothing but spectacular. The story is fascinating, to say the least. It amazes me how every single one of us deals with the cards we were handed in different ways, yet many find the same platform at the end. Matt’s book was a joy to read, and I found myself comparing my own life story to his. Also, I ran into many new concepts and had a marvelous time hashing them out against my own world’s point of view.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must-Read for Anyone Interested in Plant Medicine

I loved the first book – Spirit Matters – so I was excited to hear that the author had followed up with a second volume of his memoir. This is the story of a man’s fearless journey to understand and master shamanism, and it is a rousing tale. The reader will learn a great deal about shamanism, plant medicine, and grit and courage.
